Title:A Simulation-Based Optimization Approach for Multi-Objective Facility Location Problem in Humanitarian Logistics
Abstract:In this presentation, we will present our simulation-based optimization method that aims to address the multi-objective facility location problem (FLP) in the context of humanitarian logistics. First, some background knowledge of multi-objective optimization (MOP) and simulation is introduced. Then, an instantiation of FLP with three objectives is described and solved using a multi-objective simulation optimization approach, which consists of evolutionary algorithms and an agent-based forced migration simulation. The proposed approach is applied to a case study of the South Sudan conflict, and some results are discussed. Finally, the main contributions and future work are summarized.
