报告题目： Baire class one functions: definitions and ordinal ranks

报告简介： We consider Baire class one functions on the unit interval [0, 1], which are pointwise limit of continuous functions on [0, 1]. We will provide several equivalent definitions of this class, via the notions of separation and oscillation and for each definition, an ordinal rank is assigned. The idea of such ordinal ranks follows the one of Cantor-Bendixson rank. We will also consider effective versions of these ranks.

报告人：吴国华，南洋理工大学教授。本科、硕士均毕业于扬州师范学院数学系, 博士毕业于新西兰惠灵顿维多利亚大学，师从Downey教授，主要从事数理逻辑、可计算性理论研究及逻辑在数学中的应用。2003年获新西兰皇家学院年度Hatherton奖（唯一华人获奖者），2005年加入新加坡南洋理工大学工作，至今主持新加坡教育部国家自然科学基金4项，参与中国国家自然科学基金重点项目、国际交流合作项目多项。已在JML，APAL，JSL，MLQ等数理逻辑方向TOP期刊上发表SCI论文60多篇。
