报告题目：N体问题中的中心构型和星际高速轨道及本科生研究体验

报告摘要：天体力学中的N体问题是用一个二阶常微分方程（被称为牛顿方程）去描述天体的运动的问题，它是一个经典的数学力学问题，有着悠久的历史。中心构型是一组特殊的天体位置，在该位置每一个天体所受到其它天体的万有引力之和都恰好满足同一个平衡方程（被称为中心构型方程）。中心构型的个数有限问题被列为21世纪数学难题的第六个问题。中心构型的研究有助于星际旅行轨道设计和找到能量消耗少的便捷轨道。在这个报告中，报告人试图用本科生的研究结果来介绍中心构型及星际高速轨道的数学原理和概念。

报告人简介：谢之福教授目前是美国南密西西比大学的讲席教授（Wright W. and Annie Rea Cross Endowed Chair Professor in Mathematics and Undergraduate Research）。他于1998年本科毕业于重庆师范大学，2001年在重庆大学获得硕士学位，然后到美国杨百翰大学攻读博士学位并于2006年毕业。他是美国数学学会（American Mathematical Society），美国国防工业学会（National Defense Industrial Association），国家建模与仿真联盟（National Modeling and Simulation Coalition）的会员，同时担任过国家建模与仿真联盟下的教育与职业发展委员会（Standing Committee of Education and Professional Development）的执行成员。谢之福教授的主要研究兴趣是：动力系统及天体力学，偏微分方程及其应用，和生物数学。他认为在高校里工作最让人激动的是可以看着学生在自己的亲身指导下逐步成长起来，最终找到自己喜欢的事业。业余时间，他喜欢读书，跑步健身，及陶艺制作。

Dr. Zhifu Xie is the Wright W. and Annie Rea Cross Endowed Chair Professor in Mathematics and Undergraduate Research in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM). Dr. Xie earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Brigham Young University in 2006, a master’s degree in Mathematics from Chongqing University of China, and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education from Chongqing Normal University. Dr. Xie has been a member of American Mathematical Society (AMS), National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), and National Modeling and Simulation Coalition (NMSC). He served a member of NMSC's standing committee of Education and Professional Development (EPD). Dr. Xie has a broad research interests including dynamical system and celestial mechanics, partial differential equations and its applications, mathematical biology, and game theory. He enjoys reading, running, and mentoring undergraduate research.
